White - Chasselas

This white wine, popular in Valais, is called Fendant here - because its skin splits under the fingers ("se fend") when it is ripe. Often slightly carbonated, it is always cheerful, easy to drink and elegant on the palate. Floral notes of lime blossom underline this impression. Sometimes it even comes across as fruity and mineral. Its fruity aromas are reminiscent of lemons or ripe apples. Fendant is the aperitif wine par excellence!

Petite Arvine is the great Valais white wine with an international reputation. What makes it special is its floral note of wisteria and gentian, which is rounded off with fine fruit aromas. White - Heida

Heida (called Païen in Lower Valais) is the name for the white wine made from the Savagnin variety. Incidentally, a mutation of this variety is Gewürztraminer. Its name indicates a descent from Christianization. On the slopes of the Visperterminen, the Heida grows up to an altitude of 1,100 meters, making this one of the highest wine regions in Europe.

White - Gewürztraminer

The origin of the spice traminer is unclear, probably southeastern Europe or Egypt. In Valais, the white variety feels at home. The name comes from Tramin in South Tyrol, where wines have been documented under this name since the 11th century. Gewürztraminer produces an aromatic wine with a fragrance reminiscent of rose petals and lychee.

Red - Pampre Noir

The Pampre Noir is a vine of Pinot Noir with Burgundy ancestry. It is harvested with a certain maturity, pressed according to ancient methods and aged in oak barrels for about 10 months. At the end of this period, it is bottled and aged again for 12 months. This method gives a rich and strong wine.

Red - Humagne Rouge

A wine for connoisseurs, which is a stunner at the peak of its fruit. Floral notes, a fine gamey aroma and cocoa characterize it, as does its light taste of oak bark. Humagne rouge is particularly popular in the game season and is generally recommended with red meat.

Red - Gamaret

Gamaret or Garanoir? Both are correct!The Swiss variety Garanoir (new Gamaret), bred only in 1970, is a cross between the red variety Gamay and the white variety Reichensteiner. However, for legal reasons, the name Garanoir may no longer be used. It produces a powerful wine with a mild taste and blackberry aromas. Thanks to its low acidity, it is very digestible.

Syrah was created by a natural crossing of the varieties Mondeuse Blanche & Dureza. It most likely originated in the Rhone Valley. Lamb and vegetable ragouts taste great with a Syrah. Red - Cabernet Franc

This ancient variety of wine is particularly well-suited to the Valais sun. It produces small, thick-skinned berries with a strong, fruity bouquet and slightly exotic spices. Compared to Cabernet Sauvignon, however, the tannin content is lower. The wines therefore have much less astringency and are therefore drinkable younger.
