1 year at the Hotel Fafleralp - A report by Schweizer Berghilfe

Welcome to our report series "A year in a hotel" from the Lötschental in Valais.

The premiere of the first part is on March 14 at 5 pm.

Here is the teaser

The "Fafleralp" hotel is located at the very back of the valley. Anyone looking for peace and quiet and who loves nature will feel at home here. Tatjana Jaggy and her team work hard to ensure that guests feel at home. The "Fafleralp" example also shows why it makes sense for Swiss Mountain Aid to support not only projects in mountain farming, but also those in nature-based tourism.

Hotels are not a self-contained cosmos. They make a decisive contribution to the life and prosperity of a valley. This is also the case with the "Fafleralp" hotel and the Lötschental. It's not just the guests who shop and stop off in the valley. Nor is it just the welcome jobs that the hotel provides. It is just as important that local producers can supply their products. And when renovation work or renovations are due, the craftsmen and building trades from the valley benefit. Swiss Mountain Aid provided financial support for the renovation of the "Langgletscher" outbuilding.

For over 80 years, the foundation has been improving the livelihoods and living conditions of the Swiss mountain population with financial contributions to future-oriented investments. In this way, it counteracts emigration. Swiss Mountain Aid is financed exclusively by donations and has carried the Zewo Foundation's seal of approval since 1953, which confirms that the donations are used effectively.

FAFLERALP Sessions 2025 Mountains & Emotions

The "FAFLERALP Sessions" rely entirely on "resonating bodies"
and pull the plug wherever possible.

The key to tranquillity lies in simplicity and closeness to nature. And you'll find plenty of that up here on the Fafleralp: no noise, no light pollution, nothing to distract you. Just pure nature and breathtaking music.

The "FAFLERALP Sessions" association organizes the annual "FAFLERALP Sessions" music festival. A small, fine and somewhat exclusive festival for music lovers and music enthusiasts.

This year we will be honored musically:

Esteban Lattion

Remo Forrer

Bukhu

Lina Maly

Mükka

Jared Lembo

Whether as a package with overnight stay or for individual concerts, information and bookings can be made here:

We look forward to hearing from you and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

See you soon on the most beautiful Genussalpe,

Kirsten

Tips for guests with dogs

In the winter season, you may come across one or two sled dog teams from "wuffel.ch" that are out and about with tourists. Individual dogs in a pack always perceive other dogs as competition or even as a threat. We therefore ask you to keep your dog calmly on the lead as soon as our team approaches. We always stop about 10 meters in front of you, block the sled and keep our dogs under control while you and your dog can walk past us without any problems. We recommend holding very small dogs in your arms.

We thank you for your understanding and wish you lots of fun with your four-legged friend in the beautiful Lötschental!

Ueli and Sybille, the Wuffel team
